Houston Metro Surgery Center Summer Employees of the Month!

It takes no less then an amazing staff to run the day to day operations of our busy HMU Surgery Center. Everyone always has to be on their toes, yet at the same time, have a calm and collected demeanor for compassion towards all of our patients. Although everyone working in the surgery center is fantastic at their role, they're those who are willing to go extra mile each and everyday that sets them apart from the rest.


We would like to take the time to recognize these employees and get to know what keeps them going strong throughout the workday.

Employee of the Month- May 2016

 Linda Soza- Insurance Coordinator

Linda has been employed with us for 15 months. She is a hard worker with experience in insurance verifying as well as check-in. She is always willing to lend a helping hand to members of her team and does it without complaints. Linda has an excellent work ethic and takes pride in her work. She is a valuable member of the HMU family and we are lucky to have her in our ranks! 

Employee of the Month- June 2016

Adela Almaguer- Sterile Processing Department

Adela has been an employee if HMU since January 2007. She then joined the HMU Surgery Center as an intake coordinator in 2011. Prior to that, Adela was an employee of Dr. Light in the office. Not only has she been with the surgery center since its infancy, she has been a dedicated employee of HMU for close to two decades!

"This is like my second family."


Adele is an exceptional worker and is extremely dedicated and committed to the success of this company. With years of experience at HMU under her belt, Adela is very knowledgeable in various areas of the facility. She started as an intake coordinator then was promoted to medical records. We were fortunate when she accepted the position of SPD.

Adela takes tremendous pride in her work and always goes above and beyond to make sure that every instrument is processed well above the required standards. Adela is a valuable member of the HMU family and hopefully will continue to be for many years to come.

When Adela is not working, she enjoys spending time with her children and grandchildren as well as dancing with her husband.

Employee of the Month-July 2016

Margie Cormier

Margie absolutely loves working at HMU. Being compassionate towards patients and their needs is what she take pride in. Some days are smooth and other days are rough for Margie, but having a dedicated group of physicians and staff to work with keeps her going strong. In her free time, Margie likes to spend time with her grandchildren, shop, read, and gamble at casinos. The HMU Surgery Center struck a jackpot when we hired Margie! Keep up the great work!
